How to reach the School in Sikkim PDF  | Print |  E-mail

You can reach Sikkim by Air or road
Air: Sikkim is connected to the Indian mainland by a daily helicopter service from Bagdogra for Rs. 3000 per person at 11:45 AM and 2:30 PM. Bagdogra itself is connected from Delhi and Kolkatta by regular air services.
Road/Train. Sikkim is connected by an all weather road from the  closest railway station of New Jalpaiguri. Share jeep services (Rs.150 to 200 person) or private taxis (Rs.1600 to Rs.2000) are available from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri to Gangtok and takes about 4 hours to cover.
New Jalpaiguri is connected from all major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai and Chennai by regular train services.

To reach the school from Gangtok you need to take a taxi Rs.120-200 to Pangthang/Taktse International School which is about 15 KM from the Gangtok. The cab will take you on the road to Tashi Viewpoint but switchback onto a side road going to the Sikkim Armed Police (SAP) Campus. Pass through the gates of the SAP campus and stay on main (left fork) road as it winds along the mountain. The road will cross a small village called Naya Basti. On the right you will see the a green colour building called Hotel Dewdrops. Next to the hotel are two red houses the first one has two green shutters. We are on the second floor of the red house with green shutters.
