Mysore Information and Accommodation PDF  | Print |  E-mail

Weather will be very pleasant from June onwards until Feb end
Mysore is a small , Green , Highly unpolluted City with many a parks , Lakes, Palaces and many a very famous tourist places are maximum 3 hours from mysore [Read Bangalore,Ooty,Coonoor,Chicmag alur,Wayanad,Coorg,Belur,Haleb eedu,Shravanabelagola] . So you have ample places to Visit during weekends.
For Budget, My suggestion is to Stay in a hotel for 1 or 2 days and try getting accomodation.
On an average unfurnished 2 Bed Room House on a 1200 Squarefeet Land, the rental will be around 4500 Rs to 6500 Rs / Month.
You can very well hire or Buy a Second hand Ungeared Bike [ 50 cc] which will make you totally independant and you could peacefully attend yoga classes and roam around mysore. Mysore is a breeze to Drive and there is no issue whatsoever as population / Traffic is less. If you go for this option, you can find a house a bit away from the high-end residential accomodations in Gokulam IIIrd stage which is walkable to yoga centres. For Budget, you could find a house in "Vijayanagar I stage", "Vijayanagar IInd Stage", "Hebbal I or IInd Stages".
If you want package kind of, there are quite a few Paying guest accomodations nearer to Gokulam area where you will get a single room , fully furnished [ Non A/c as A/C is not required in Mysore] with hot water/ TV etc for 3500 Rs / Month. Some of the PGs include breakfast and dinner also along with room Service and "Washing & Pressing Clothes" for this amount.
All of the above areas which I mentioned is around 5 - 8 kms from City centre.
For Food, it depends on your preference and Cuisine but Lunch/ Dinner Buffet in high-end hotel will be around 250 Rs. And Generally normal hotels will be economical only.

And Lastly there are quite lot of Non-indians practising yoga and within a week or so you will feel at home.

Testimonials

Prachi Tiwari Mumbai, India

Nice to know the long lost tradition of yoga massage is from India! The approach by your group is nice-in terms of knowing the basics. Maybe for me this is just the tip of the iceberg. I would love to come back for the next level. Roshini is really comfortable to learn with, she has the right approach and technique, of course the master is great!

Natalie Pruitt: Colorado, USA

As a yoga practioner, this form of massage has greatly improved my physical stamina and balance. This form of massage is a delight to receive and give. The training was flawless; the school's approach to learning is enthusiastic. The abundance of the school makes it a delight to be involved, part of the community of learning. Cyriac and Roshini attention to detail and pace of teaching is beneficial to all levels of competency. I will return to share my teachings.

Rajiv Shah- Leicester, UK

Having the opportunity to visit India and continuing my practices of learning traditional Ayurvedic massage, to be able to learn the ancient form of Thai Yoga Massage in India has been incredible beneficial to my practice in the UK. The school is a unique space in which by virtue of the teachings and fellow students, I completed my professional practice with a pride of learning in the art forms origin.
