Learning Massage at the School of Thai Yoga Massage India
TYMS teaches Thai Yoga Massage in the traditional northern Thai style originating in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Our teaching methodology is based on developing both tactile intuition and anatomical analysis. We believe that learning the techniques of Thai massage must be accompanied with the understanding of the anatomical effect of that technique on the human system. We understand the TYM can be a difficult skill to learn in one sitting and hence we are among the few schools in the world that offer our students FREE refresher courses. For our out-station and international students we also offer 90% of our course material as online videos. So even if you are unable to attend a Free refresher course in India, you can still access them from your home over the internet. We know that Thai massage is a tactile skill and therefore we keep our class strength limited to four students per instructor so that every student gets to practice and be practiced on by our instructors. This ensures that every point, every meridian is experienced by you, the student, and there is no guesswork involved in it. We are not a corporate style school, we like our students to learn well and bring honour to Guru Jivaka and the school every time they work on someone. We take personal interest in ensuring that our students practice well even after they graduate and when possible even help them with contacts to establish a rewarding practice. We look forward to sharing the light of this wonderful art with you and hope that you will help spread its much needed healing across the world and bring health and happiness to all those who you may touch. Upcoming Schedules
Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient Buddhist healing art based on yogic principles of energy/prana channels. It uses breath and pressure combined with assisted yoga postures to open the meridians of the body. Thai Yoga Massage addresses pain arising from chronic postural imbalances and improves flexibility. As a Thai Yoga Massage therapist you can help people find a pain free and harmonious existence in this world of stress and discontentment.
We teach Thai Yoga Massage courses in the northern Thai style and combine postural and modern anatomical research so you can design an effective and customized treatment strategy that recognizes the uniqueness of each human being. Due to one-on-one attention our training are intense and ensure that each of students can be confident enough to go on to setting up a professional practice.
Please see below our schedule for the coming months to choose a venue and date. Remember we accept a maximum of four students per instructor in each course to maintain quality of instruction.

Thai Yoga Massage Training Methodology
The massage courses at TYMS have been designed from a background of extensive training methodology of our faculty. Our methodology is built on six essential parameters of :
Body Mechanics: At TYMS we teach you the right application of strokes and body posture so that you use minimal effort and can deliver a two hour massage with ease. Ergonomics is critical for a safe and long career as a therapist.
Rhythm: With the right rhythm a practitioner will be able to make the Thai Massage experience a meditation for both the receiver and themselves.
Emphasis on anatomy: Which helps with clear location of energy lines and pressure points. With our research into Trigger point therapy and anatomy trains your work in Thai Yoga Massage is truly therapuetic and not merely "energy" oriented fluff and bluff.
Memorisation techniques: Memorisation enables you to focus on improving your technique rather spending time remembering the next sequence. It also ensures that you get more practice time so you can graduate to a state of play in your practice. Ask someone who has learnt Thai Yoga Massage two years ago and still looks at the book while practicing!
Hands on Instruction: As our class size is limited to four students, each student gets one-on-one time with the instructor to experience what each sequence feels like and then deliver it on the instructor to understand the location of points, lines and pressure.
Refreshing your skills: to assist with post course internalization TYMS provides video support of almost 90% of it course material to its students on the web across the world. Also TYMS is one of the few schools in the world that lets you retake a course free of charge (excluding boarding and lodging) anywhere we are teaching in the world.
